WELCOME

This Home Page is to give both pupils and parents and other visitors of our website the information they need to make the most of their education at Dayspring Montessori International School. For new pupils and their parents, we hope it will be useful and answer many of your questions. Parents are encouraged to take an active part in the school by getting involved in the Parent Teacher Association, keeping abreast with developments in the School and even assisting with the extra curricula programme. Have fun and make the best out of our website.

WHAT IS A MONTESSORI SCHOOL?
A Montessori school is designed to take advantage of the sensitive years between the ages of zero and six, when the child is most able to absorb information from his environment, following the philosophies and teachings of Dr. Maria Montessori, a world-renowned educator. Although a Montessori child has the advantage of beginning her education without drudgery, boredom or discouragement, very early learning is neither the norm nor the objective in Montessori education. The Montessori ideal is only that learning should occur naturally, at the proper moment for each child.

THE DAYSPRING DIFFERENCE

We adopt the Montessori Method of teaching which gives our children a firm foundation to build on. This method of teaching makes learning tangible and practical and children have fun as they learn. Our pupils become very confident, assertive and independent as a result.

By age four, the average child in Dayspring has a large store of vocabulary, is able to communicate intelligently, read three to five letter words with confidence and able to understand basic concepts in Mathematics.

We adopt subject teaching from grade 4 to Junior High and our small class sizes make it possible for teachers to give pupils individual attention.
Supervision by heads of department and School Management Team helps to keep teachers on their toes.

Dayspring has dedicated, disciplined and highly qualified teachers. Montessori training is a must for our Pre-school teachers. All Junior High teachers are university graduates. The school organises in-service training for teachers to help improve on their service delivery.

At Dayspring, we are like a family. Pupils and staff have a healthy relationship which makes everyone feel very much at home.
